What is an Apostolic Academy?Apostolic is a term that refers to a spiritually mature person that follows the teachings of Christ. The word derives from “Apostle” which is a Greek word (apóstolos) and means "one sent forth." Our Apostolic Academy is focused on training believers to have their entire lives focused on Christ and a lifestyle that constantly refines one's character to step into a more mature faith coupled with spiritual wisdom and understanding.
-
What is The Academy's teaching style? The Apostolic Academy at Trumpets of Tirzah is an immersive learning environment. Whether you are taking online or in-person classes, our professors care about your well-being and will genuinely nurture your learning path. All of our classes are taught live and each class encourages healthy discussion and questions. We incorporate Scripture with Spiritual Understanding so that you receive a well-balanced "Word & Spirit" full gospel education. You will be assigned a Pastoral Advisor and you will also be assigned a prayer partner so that your educational journey is constantly being spiritually supported.
-
What is your Accreditation? We are approved from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) to operate as a Religious Education Institution in the State of California. We are compliant with all Regulations of the California Education Code section § 94874(e.) Our curriculum is overseen by the Trumpets of Tirzah Pastoral Board in addition to The Academy's Advisory Board. We are compliant with all spiritual oversight in addition to state and federal regulations.
-
Do you accept FAFSA?No, we do not accept financial aid or loans through FAFSA. FAFSA is a federally owned agency through the United States government. As a religious education institution, we have approval to operate outside of the federal education system, so we are unable to accept FAFSA.
-
Do you offer financial aid?For many of our courses, we do offer a payment plan. The fees for any given course can be divided up over the duration of that course. But all course fees are due in full prior to the course ending. Our fees are a fraction of the cost of other universities, the "trade-off" is that our fees need paid off quicker.
-
Will I receive a 1098-T at the end of the year so I can claim educational expenses? No, as a religious institution, we are not affiliated with the US Federal Educational System. The 1098-T form is a form used by the US government. As a religious institution, we have exemption from the state of California to operate outside of the federal education system. You should consult your accountant about any possible tax exemptions for your individual situation.

What is the Accelerated Learning Path?We have a non-negotiable prerequisite which is our Certificate in Transformational Leadership. Think of this as a General Education required course that other universities have. At the Apostolic Academy, we offer enrollment in this course at the same time as any of our other courses, so you can accelerate your graduating timeline.
-
I already have another degree from another university, why do I still have to take the prerequisite?Because we have spiritual responsibility with education, our Certificate in Transformational Leadership is the foundation on which all of our principles rest upon. We are accountable to the Lord for educating others and want to ensure that anyone who graduates from the Apostolic Academy has learned the core foundations of living a Christian life and has had life application training. We do offer an Accelerated Learning Path so that you can take the Certificate in Transformational Leadership at the same time that you take another course.
-
Do you allow transfers from other universities?YES - we are happy to transfer an existing degree from a previous university to continue your higher education at the Apostolic Academy at Trumpets of Tirzah. Your degree must be in a Christian discipline in order to continue higher education with us. We do require an official transcript and there is a transfer fee.
-
Can you transfer credits or only finished degrees? We can only transfer a full degree. We do not accept credits towards our courses. Anyone who has already earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, in a Christian discipline, at another university is eligible to jump into our Master of Divinity or Doctorate courses. We also require that your degree has been attained in the last 3 years. As we are all on a journey of spiritual growth, degrees that were earned in a different phase of life will not have the same educational impact on one's current self. All transfers still have to take our prerequisite but may also choose to enroll in the Accelerated Learning Path. There is a fee for transferring a degree to our Academy.
-
How do I transfer my degree to The Apostolic Academy? Our Admissions process will help walk you through it. Most universities have a student portal that you can log into and will allow you to send your transcript to us digitally. We do require transcript authentication. Usually this is a fairly quick process. Once you request your transcript from your previous university, we typically will receive it within 7 days.
-
Do you need to receive my transcript before I enroll.YES - we need your authenticated transcript, and your transfer fee, prior to your actual enrollment. Our Admissions Department will help walk you through the process and the timeline. We are here to make your transfer easy and stress-free.
-
What is the transfer fee?Our transfer fee covers the costs to transfer over your existing education into our education management system so that you have a seamless education transcript. The transfer fee starts at $500 to transfer over a Bachelor degree and goes up to transfer any other graduate degrees.
